Last Friday, Kathryn entered the world of solid foods! She ate like a champ (I think she gets it from her daddy!). Here are a few pictures of the venture.
So far she's only had rice cereal and sweet potatoes, which she loves! We are having lots of fun with this new-found skill, and are enjoying watching her as she continues to learn and grow!

our week in Bridgewater
Last week, Kathryn and I were in Bridgewater spending time with my family. Here are some pictures from our week.
Kathryn's first time at a big pool. She didn't get in because it was too cold, but she had fun hanging out poolside.Riding bikes with Uncle Nick and Aunt Ali through the Bridgewater College campus.

another friend!
Last Saturday we traveled up the road to Lexington to meet my high school friend Mary and her husband Jeremy for coffee. Their baby, Jaron, was born in March, and he and Kathryn had never met. They live near Philadelphia, so it was a treat to be able to see them and meet their sweet baby boy.I wanted to find and scan a picture of the two of us from high school and put it with this picture. A then and now kinda thing. But I haven't had the chance to do that yet, so here's the now. I've known Mary since 6th grade, so it's neat to still be in touch in this stage in our lives.

6 months old!
Yesterday was Kathryn's 6-month birthday! I can't believe it!!! She is getting bigger every day, and more fun every day too. These pictures show a few of her new favorite pasttimes. In the first, she is playing with an envelope. Any kind of paper/tissue/napkin will do...she loves playing with paper in general! Here she is being a big girl and sitting up! She just started sitting steadily on her own this past Sunday. It was like a switch was flipped...on Saturday she couldn't do it, and then on Sunday, there she was, sitting by herself! To celebrate I got her a few "big girl" toys at a yardsale that you can see her playing with!
Kathryn got to meet her cousin Willow for the first time the other weekend and loved her! We can't wait to see her again!
I got a "ring sling" from a yardsale, and use it to carry Kathryn. It's really cool, although we're still learning how to use it. It's pretty cool though.
Finally, we have been hanging up stuff around our house, and finally hung up our beloved cukoo clock. We missed it after having it packed up for 2 years because of moving and all.

Goodbyes
The other weekend, we were in Harrisonburg briefly, and got to see our good friends the Nolls. They are heading out to Japan soon for 2 years as missionaries, so we wanted to spend some time with them before they leave. Noa and Kathryn are becoming dear friends, and will miss each other, but we are excited about what God is going to do through the Noll family over the next several years. I have a couple more pictures of the girls to post later, when I'm able, but for now, here are a few.
