For those who care about this kind of thing, here are the details of Kathryn's 2 month check up (I realized I forgot to put it on last night's post!): she now weighs 11 lbs 14 oz and is now 23 inches long. That puts her in the 75th percentile for weight, length, and head size...on our way to a big girl! The doctor said everything looked good with her, and even gave me some good news. We've been working with Kathryn on sleeping in her crib. Some nights she does really well, others not so much (as in, the second we put her down she wakes up and cries, with that pattern continuing all night). Since Johnny was gone over the weekend, I really didn't think I could fight that fight all by myself all night long for both nights (sometimes it's every 15 minutes!). So, on Friday night, after we went through it for about an hour, I gave in and put her in her car seat to sleep. (She sleeps quite well in that.) Now, I do then put her car seat in her crib...I figure I'm gonna get her in her crib one way or another! That way, she at least is in the environment that we're trying to get her used to, even if it's in her car seat. Anyway, I kind of sheepishly told the doctor she slept in her car seat sometimes, figuring she'd tell me to try not to do that too often. However, she said it was totally fine, and that they sometimes recommended it for some babies. Well, that info would have been nice to know 2 months ago! But I am glad to know that at least for now. We'll still try to keep her in her crib mostly, but it's nice to know on the nights when nothing will work, we have a back up!
Also, I wanted to highlight a couple of other people's blogs to check out. Randy and Lindsay have some fun pictures of Kathryn on their blog, as well as pictures of Kathryn's new cousin, puppy Tiki! Josh and Tabitha have a picture of their little babies (twins!) on their blog, so check theirs often for updates as they grow and make their entrance into the world in September. The Glenns have been on some fun adventures lately. Ok, that's all for now...time to go play with my baby!
